We welcome you to the home page of the Labrador City Fire Rescue.

Located in Western Labrador next to the Quebec border and below the 53rd parallel, Labrador City started it's history in the late 50's as the Iron Ore Company of Canada began to set up and operate an open pit iron ore mine.

It was in 1961 that the Labrador City Fire Department was formed and since then, more than 130 of our local men and women have unselfishly dedicated themselves to the protection of the lives and property of their friends and neighbours.

Today, Labrador City Fire Rescue is a composite department that consists of a paid Fire Chief, five paid firefighters and more than 36 volunteer firefighters. Beside offering protection to it's residents and their property, they offer protection to the Iron Ore Company properties. The Department responds to calls beginning at the Quebec border to the half way point of the Trans Labrador Highway towards Churchill Falls.

We invite you to browse our pages to learn about our Department, our equipment and the community that we are proudly a part of.

Our site has recieved a complete overhaul and we will be placing new pages as time goes by. Mistakes are being made and naturally, being corrected. So check back every now and then as we update our pages.
